Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

08/07/2016 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Jackson is a wiry, two-way 2019 prospect who is currently more developed as a first baseman. He has a big arm at first, making good throws to bases and turning double plays with ease. He shows agile feet around the bag with good range to field, especially to his backhand. His hands are soft and he is able to pic balls out of the dirt to help out his infielders. Jackson is a contact hitter who is always putting the ball in play with his level swing. He has good balance at the dish and find the barrel when he stays short to the ball. Loading to a powerful bat angle will help him stay in rhythm and hit the ball hard. Jackson is an exciting prospect for the next level.

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Jackson is a hard worker who has made great strides in his game. At SS, he hustles around ground balls and into a square fielding position. He has a clean exchange and strong arm, firing accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, this RHH shows fluid rhythm as he works back into a loaded position. Bat speed is quick as he whips the barrel through the zone. Engaging and driving his lower 1/2 will result in increased power at the plate. On the bump, Jackson has a live/loose arm and works in-line toward the plate. He works to a tall balance point and maintains level shoulders. FB shows good run and will get in on the RHH's. He has good potential on the mound with a high ceiling. Rall (2019 grad) has skills that will bring success on the diamond.

08/04/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Wilmington, DE Jackson is a R/R 2-way player (SS/RHP) who has a solid build (5'10"/150). With the bat, this righty has an aggressive approach and is looking to hit. Barrel delivery is quick as he swings on a short/direct path. At SS, Jackson works around the ground ball and fields it cleanly. He gets rid of it and delivers accurate throws toward 1B. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He maintains smooth tempo with athletic actions. He repeats well and works in-line toward the dish. FB tops out at 68 mph while breaking ball has 11/5 shape. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Relax grip
2. Swing path
Defense
1. Arm strength
2. Play through ball toward target
Pitching
1. Lower 1/2 drive off of rubber
2. Finish with extension

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
