01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) This athletic/projectable 2-way prospect continues to shine and did so again at the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. With the bat, Reed steps into the box with a purpose. Quick hands fire the barrel to and through the zone with + speed as he connects and sprays line-drives. In the OF, he gets good reads off of the bat and tracks down fly-balls with speed. He works behind and through the ball, transferring smoothly from glove to hand and firing strong throws with backspin & carry into his target. On the mound, Reed has an effective 3-pitch mix in which to challenge hitters with. He has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB cracks the mitt at 81 mph while showing slight sinking action. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape while CH has some arm-side run. He maintains fluid tempo and repeats well, pounding the zone with strikes. Jackson is a solid all-around prospect who has the tools that will easily translate and make an impact at the next level.

06/07/2020 - All-In Membership - Birmingham, AL Jackson is an athletic OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.70 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (89 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (83 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. Jackson has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jackson is an athletic OF prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Jackson shows efficient footwork and gets into position on time. He fields with a firm glove and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate with good backspin through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a simple load and rotates his core through the ball well, leading to solid pop to his pull side. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separate his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with cutting action. Changeup sits from 67-68mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his sophomore season.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Jackson is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Jackson shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Staying on top of the ball when throwing to prevent run can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes an aggressive swing and produces solid gap to gap pop. Jackson can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph with tailing action. Cutter sits from 76-78mph with sudden movement. Changeup sits from 68-69mph with sinking action. Simplifying his motion can help Jackson improve as a pitcher. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jackson is a projectable OF/RHP that graduates in 2022. In the OF Jackson shows athletic actions with quick footwork as he works behind the ball creating good direction. He fields the ball athletically with his hands out in front making clean exchanges as he creates momentum to the target. His throws are accurate with carry. Hitting, Jackson has a square set up with high and loose hands. His stride is square and he gets it down on time getting the barrel on plane with fast bat speed. His solid gap to gap approach allows him to be productive at the plate and deliver. On the bump, Jackson shows a FB, CB, CH mix showing confident motions on the mound. He separates his hands on time as he shows plus extension finishing with good rotation. Jackson has several years to develop and we look forward to seeing his growth.

06/09/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Jackson is a RHP/CF prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with arm side run. Cutter sits from 73-76mph. Changeup sits from 64-67mph with sinking action. In the field, Jackson shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He makes solid contact and drives the ball into the gaps. With three more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
