Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

02/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Jackson is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B, starts with a good pre-pitch routine and showed athletic actions at first. He showed ability to cover ground in all directions, with active footwork, and keeps his eyes behind his glove. He creates good fielding angles and fields from an athletic/square fielding position with ability to pick out hops. Has a loose/quick arm stroke as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick release. Made accurate and on-line throws consistently with an arm velocity up to 81mph. Showed good footwork around the bag. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. Has a simple/repeatable delivery and showed ability to change planes with his pitches. Starts with a clean leg lift as he separates his hands on-time and extends through on his release. He throws a "heavy" FB that sits 79-82mph with good carry through plate, a 12/6 shaped CB, a slider with 11/5 shape that flashes tight spin, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Starts with on-time stride, with knob to C, and showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Stays long through the ball as he squared up balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. With 2 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jackson continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 73-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, continues to shine through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Jackson is big/strong (6’0”/170) two-way prospect (RHP/1B) who stands out in the 2024 class. This RHP is looking to compete every time that he toes the rubber. He uses a three-pitch mix: FB ranges 76-78, CB shows 12-6 shape with early movement, and CH ranges 61-62. He projects as a power pitcher and uses a repeatable arm action. At the corner position, he has great bag awareness and fields his position well. His release is quick with accurate throws to the bag, while showing off impressive arm strength (80 mph). As his foot quickness improves, he will increase range. At the plate, this righty stands in the box with a strong presence in a balanced/square stance. His load is smooth coming from on-time/fluid rhythm as he works to engage his lower half to create power. As he gets his hands to the ball and rotates his core, Jackson creates hard/line-drive contact favoring his pull side (exit velo = 80 mph). Only a 2024 grad, Reifel has a ton of upside and we look forward to watching this talented two-way prospect develop.

10/18/2020 - All-In Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Jackson is an athletic/projectable (6'0"/170) RHP/1B who can make things happen. On the mound, this righty has an effective 3-pitch mix as he pounds the zone with strikes. he works to a good/controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. Mechanics are sound and he repeats his delivery well. FB ranges from 74-76 mph with some sinking action as he works to keep it down in the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good depth and tight spin - 64-65 mph. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed helping to create deception. At 1B, he has active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He works into a square/athletic fielding position and tacks the ball into his mitt. He has good bag awareness and adjust to throws up and down the line. With the bat, this righty shows an athletic/tall stance with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. He engages his lower 1/2, whips the barrel with + bat speed and connects with pop. Reifel is a talented 2-way prospect (2024 grad) who has a ton of upside and a very bright future ahead of him.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
