05/29/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Jackson is an OF in the class of 2023 out of Malvern, PA. In the outfield, he displayed fluid footwork with the ability to cover ground and take good angles to get around the baseball. He presents his glove early and works through the ball well. His arm is quick and short which allows for him to get the ball out quickly with carry to his targets. At the plate, he uses a slightly closed stance with smooth timing to start his swing. When he decides to attack the baseball he really swings with great intent and quick bat speed. He works the ball to all fields with gap to gap power. Jackson is a good athlete who is fundamentally sound. We are excited to see where his baseball future ends up.

09/22/2021 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Jackson continues to showcase his baseball tools at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through, creating momentum to his target. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips (87 mph velocity) throws on a line through his target. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball showed a range of 74-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He shows a great feel for pitching and maintains composure on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Jackson is a 2023 OF. Tall frame athletic build with length and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary OF, active feet who works low to and through the ball. Shows some quickness to his arm action and he works aggressive to the baseball. Tracks ball well as he works behind the ball. Accurate throws from an over-the-top arm slot with good carry into infield at 86mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and square stance with active hands. Has strength in his swing with good bat speed at 85mph. Direct path with a good hip rotation produces solid line drive contact. Three years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities at the next level.

09/23/2020 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Jackson is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Jackson takes good angles and stays directional through fly balls. He gets into an athletic position and fields ground balls with sure hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Working on his lateral range can help Jackson make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to his pull side. Jackson can barrel up more baseballs by keeping his head on the ball throughout his swing. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 11-5 break. Long tossing can help Jackson build up his arm strength. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jackson is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Jackson takes a good first step and shows smooth rhythm. He gets into a square position and fields with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a centered stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid gap to gap pop. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-64mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Jackson is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Jackson takes a good first step and is aggressive attacking the ball. He makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Fielding with softer hands can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets into a small load. He hits against a strong front side and drives the ball to his pull side. Jackson can improve as a hitter by getting his stride foot down sooner. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Jackson is an OF/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Jackson shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He fields in an athletic position and makes accurate throws to his target. Fielding the ball with his hands lower can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side, leading to contact to all fields. Jackson can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 66-67mph. Loosening his arm action can help Jackson improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

03/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Jackson is a tall, thin, 2-way player with good skills. In the OF, Jackson is aggressive to the ball, feet are efficient, and he presents his glove well. He has a good 1st step, fields in a square position, and throws with momentum and strength to his cut off man. On the mound, Jackson stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a clean arm circle, and he separates on time. He keeps his eyes on target, has good direction toward home, and he repeats his delivery well. At the plate, Jackson has a tall set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes hard/consistent contact, and he uses his lower body well. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
