01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jackson is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Jackson takes a good first step and shows smooth rhythm. He gets into a square position and fields with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a centered stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid gap to gap pop. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-64mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Jackson is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Jackson takes a good first step and is aggressive attacking the ball. He makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Fielding with softer hands can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets into a small load. He hits against a strong front side and drives the ball to his pull side. Jackson can improve as a hitter by getting his stride foot down sooner. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Jackson is an OF/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Jackson shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He fields in an athletic position and makes accurate throws to his target. Fielding the ball with his hands lower can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side, leading to contact to all fields. Jackson can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 66-67mph. Loosening his arm action can help Jackson improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
