Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

03/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Jackson is a 2023 SS/RHP. Tall frame athletic build with square shoulders and projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Primary SS showed smooth actions as his lower half and upper half were synced up. Creates good angles and fields the ball out front with soft hands. Shows an accurate arm with carry across the diamond from multiple arm angles. Secondary righthanded pitcher with good tempo and rhythm. Overall clean mechanics with low effort release. Full and loose arm action working to a 3/4 release point. Fastball has some sink to it when extended out front. A developing curveball with 10/4 shape and a changeup with tailing action. A long toss program, as well as utilizing his lower half, will help Jackson with arm speed and command. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even and athletic stance. Glides into contact with a direct path to the ball and repeats well. Rotates well through the ball with late bat whip and a bat exit velocity of 86mph. Line drive bat path to the pull side that projects with additional extension out front. As he continues to mature and develop, we see him having a promising career at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
