07/05/2019 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Jackson is a young 2-way player that plays SS/RHP. At SS Jackson has effective footwork with plus range to the glove side. He fields the ball square and on time with soft hands. His exchanges are clean and creates momentum to his target with accurate throws. Working on his footspeed will help improve his range. At the plate his set up is square and starts with high hands. His stride is square and on time with a short swing. He shows plus barrel control, rotating his core to hit line drives. Jackson continues to work hard and make progress.

04/14/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Jackson is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Jackson has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates on time. He has a simple delivery, good glove side lead, and a controlled landing toward home plate. In the INF, Jackson has efficient footwork, a presentable glove, and he moves well laterally. He fields low, his exchange is clean, and he delivers the ball with a short arm action to his target. Offensively, Jackson has an open/athletic set-up, good balance, and a short/direct swing path. He keeps a still head, he can hit to all fields, and he makes consistent contact. Overall skills can further improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
