04/10/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington, DC
Jackson is a RHP/SS who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At SS, good pre-pitch routine to start, with active/efficient footwork, and has good body control at the baseball. Works from right to left and has a low funnel with soft hands out front. Showed ability to pick out hops as he fields from an athletic/low fielding position. Made accurate/on-line throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 76mph. On the mound, he has a simple and repeatable delivery. He gets a good rear hip coil and separates his hands on time. He works with good tempo and keeps his eyes on target throughout delivery. He throws a FB that sits 67-69mph with plus command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, a slider from the same window as his breaking ball, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Starts with a short/square glide step and keeps his hands inside the baseball. He made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Jackson making huge strides on the baseball field.
01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS)
Jackson is a 2024 RHP/2B who showcased his skills during the Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. At 2B, he starts with a good prep-step, with active feet, and showed ability to cover ground. Fields from a square fielding position, with his eyes behind glove, and has a low funnel. Made accurate and on-line throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 73mph. On the mound, he showed ability to pitch inside and did a good job of controlling the run game by varying his looks. He has a controlled landing and showed a clean arm stroke. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 68mph with cutting action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with medium break, and a developing changeup. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed a flat barrel path as he made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 65mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.
12/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD
Jackson is a 2024 2B/RHP that keeps improving due to his coachability and dedication to the game. In the field, his feet are light and active. He moves well laterally and has solid glove presentation. He has short arm action and makes accurate throws to his targets. On the mound, he works from the stretch. He has solid control in a high 3/4 arm slot. His CB has a 10-4 shape with late break. His CH has sinking action that will keep hitters off balance. At the plate, he demonstrates a line drive approach. He has fluid timing and stays balance during his swing. When Jackson learns to gain separation with his hands in the load, he will generate more explosion in his swing. As Jackson continues to play, he will keep improving.
07/22/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Bowie, MD
Jackson continues to work hard on his game. With the bat is where he excels. He display an athletic setup with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. He whips the barrel with some bat speed, connects and his line-drives back up the middle of the field. Get his hands loaded will help to get more bat whip, resulting in increased power. Behind the plate, the dies in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. Exchange is clean with accurate throws down to 2B - pop times at 2.65. Working to gain ground when throwing to 2B will help to get more into his throws and lower pop times. At 2B, he hustles right and left and shows some lateral range. He tracks GB's into his mitt, gathers well and works in-line toward his target at 1B. Working more right to left on his approach to the GB will help to improve skills at 2B. Jackson has tools with still a lot of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.
08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14)
Jackson is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training at Pirate City. In the field, Jackson shows efficient footwork and gets into a low position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Jackson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated and takes a short swing, leading to solid contact. Jackson can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph. Breaking ball sits from 45-47mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 51-52mph. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Jackson improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale
Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic
evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches
with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However,
for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for
Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).

Running - U.S. National Metrics
Measured with a stopwatch, this test indicates the athlete's acceleration in the first 10
yards
of the sprint. This is crucial when tracking down a ball or exploding off of a base.
Measured with a stop watch, the 40yd dash tests an athlete's speed from point A to B.
Considering acceleration, top speed, and stamina, this test combines to show an athlete's
straight-line speed.
Measured with a stop watch, the 60yd dash tests an athlete's speed from point A to B.
Considering acceleration, top speed, and stamina, this test combines to show an athlete's
straight-line speed.
Athlete's run in short bursts 5 yards to the left, changes direction and run 10 yards to the
right, then pivot and explodes 5 yards back to the left finishing where they started. The
shuttle run tests an
athlete's lateral quickness, explosion in short areas and ability to change direction.
Athlete's run in short bursts 5 yards to the right, changes direction and run 10 yards to
the
left, then pivot and explodes 5 yards back to the right finishing where they started. The
shuttle run tests an
athlete's lateral quickness, explosion in short areas and ability to change direction.
The athlete starts from a still place, crouches, rocks back and leaps forward on a
horizontal
plane. This measures lower half strength, hip mobility and core strength.
Taking the standard broad jump to the next level, here we can test for lateral quickness and
explosion by having the athlete jump off on one leg and in the direction of the other. This
also gives us a feel for the
independent explosiveness of each side of the lower half of the body.

Using a dynamometer, we test for grip strength by having an athlete squeeze the device as
hard
as they can for a few seconds. In general, the stronger an athlete's grip the quicker their
bat speed and throwing
velocity.

Also known as Pop Time, this test is measured using a stopwatch. The catcher receives a
pitch,
exchanges, and throws down to 2B. The timer starts when the ball contacts the Catcher's
glove and is stopped when the
ball contact's the middle infielder's glove at 2B. Combining technique, agility, and arm
strength, Pop Time is one
of the most important metrics for a Catcher because it indicates their ability to throw
runners out.
The batter hits a ball off a tee and we use a radar gun to capture the velocity of the ball
coming off the barrel of the bat. This test gives an idea of an athlete's bat speed,
explosiveness, hand speed, and overall strength.
The arm grade takes into consideration a variety of components including the initial
trajectory (speed and angle upon
exit from the hand), the raw radar velocity (measured in MPH), the
carry or flight of the ball (what the ball is doing
in the air), and the action and accuracy of the ball into the target (speed
and angle upon arrival).
