12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jackson continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (89 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (83 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving the ball with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 79-80 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jackson is an athletic OF prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Jackson shows efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time in a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and hard line drives. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his sophomore season.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 55-60 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Jackson is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown. In the field, Jackson fields the ball in a low position and keeps his throws accurate to his target with on-line carry. Jackson can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He gets into his load well and comes through the zone with a direct swing, barreling up the baseball. Jackson can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half through the zone. With five more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his game.

04/30/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Jackson is a 2-way player at 2B/OF. Defensively at 2B, he hustles from right to left as he tries to get into a square fielding position. He works to play through the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. In the OF, he takes aggressive routes as he tracks down fly balls. He tries to work behind the ball and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the stick, Jackson sets up square in the box and gets back into a load. He's patient tracking pitches into the zone and he looks to drive the ball back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Active prep
2. Develop soft hands
3. Clean exchange to throw
Outfield
1. Lateral range
2. Get behind the ball
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed/hands
3. Level swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
