06/23/2022 - BF Firecracker Classic WEST 16U Jackson continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time date, now a 6.72 runner. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with online carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Jackson is a SS/OF prospect in the class of 2025. He shows off very impressive athletic ability. In the field, he showed clean actions at both positions. Did a very good job activating his feet through pre pitch steps. Fielded from a low and out front position. Did an excellent job creating momentum to throw and delivered strikes all weekend. At the plate, he started in a square and tall stance. Showed off a very advanced approach that worked gap-to-gap and led to him hitting a triple in game action. Showed very quick hand speed and good feel for the barrel. Jackson is a very talented young prospect that has a bright future; we hope to see him again soon.

08/10/2020 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Jackson is an athletic/talented 2-way prospect as a SS/OF. With the bat, this righty stands in with athletic actions, centered balance and fluid rhythm. Loose/quick hands whip the barrel through the zone with speed as he connects and hits hard line-drives. At SS, he shows active prep working lightly on the balls of his feet right to left into an athletic fielding position. Hands are presented out in front as he fields the ball softly and has a quick/clean transfer to throw. In the OF, he has a quick first step and takes good angles with speed to track down fly-balls. He gathers well and works in-line toward his target firing the ball accurately. Only a 2025 grad - Tyler is a prospect to follow.

03/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Jackson is a young, 2-way player with a thin frame. At SS, Jackson is aggressive to the ball, footwork is efficient, and he fields in a low position. He gets good glove extension, his exchange is clean, and throws with a short arm action to his target. In the OF, Jackson has a low approach, soft hands, and he works behind fly balls well. He has a clean release and a long arm action to his target. Offensively, Jackson has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, has fast bat speed, and makes square/consistent contact. Jackson can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Infield
1. Play through
2. Arm strength
3. Backhand
Outfield
1. Accuracy
2. Foot speed
3. Arm strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
