Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/3BPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jackson is a coachable 2B/3B prospect who made adjustments well during his time at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Jackson covers ground well and fields the ball in a square position. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws on-line towards his target. Jackson can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes consistent contact. Jackson can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/19/2017 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Jackson is an athletic 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2020. Defensively, Jackson has fluid footwork, agile movements to the ball, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He presents his glove well, has soft hands, and he has a clean exchange with an accuracy arm to his target. At the plate, Jackson has a square/athletic set-up, a short stride, and a proper load. He swings in good rhythm, makes square contact, and has a good eye for the strike zone. Improved balance, a more level swing, and letting the ball travel deeper will help hitting numbers get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
