Shows athletic actions with ability to cover ground in all directions. He fields from a square fielding position with a clean gather off of his left foot. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and gets rid of the ball. He hits from a tall and open stance. Has quiet actions with ability to deliver the barrel. He gets on-plane early and sprays balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 84mph. A right-handed pitcher has a quick arm stroke and is around the zone with all of his pitches. He lands square to his target and has a controlled landing. A 3-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB that topped 69mph with sinking action. He mixes in a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with tight spin and a CH that he throws with FB arm speed. Jackson should have opportunities to play at the next level with continued growth and development.

10/04/2023 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2026) Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Arizona SOPH Fall Classic. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes good first steps in reading balls off the bat. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball showed a range of 70-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Jackson is a 2026 OF/RHP prospect with a strong frame at 6'1" 180 pounds. His hands present out in front and he is also very aggressive to ground balls. He made some nice plays to the backhand side on fly balls and showed a ton of effort. His exchange is clean and he carries momentum online to his targets with his throws. At the plate, he starts in a tall, open stance and has a short, squared stride with a good load back. He keeps his balance centered throughout his swing and keeps his head quiet, tracking the ball well. He works the ball to the middle of the field and makes consistent contact. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
