05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Jackson is a SS/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, his feet work well (7.28 runner) and covers his defensive zone well. Has solid prep step actions and replaces his feet well. The ball sticks to his glove and his exchanges are clean. Shows awareness around the bag on his feeds and spins. Has the arm strength at 76 velo and working to throw the top of the baseball will increase his accuracy. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a over-the-top release. Generates solid energy towards the plate and uses his legs well. His FB touched 72 with run in the zone. His SL had 10-4 shape and stayed down in the zone. His CH was his best secondary with positive fade and sink actions. Working to keep his front side more level, will allow him to work down the hill properly. At the plate, he begins in an athlete stance with a slight crouch. Uses a short stride and his movements are fluid. Shows barrel feel and creates pull side production. Working to stay inside the ball and create extension will allow his path to be in the zone longer. Overall, Jackson is a hard working player and with more development and reps, he can blossom into a college prospect.
