09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lynnwood (Seattle), WA Jacob is a young, 2-way player with a strong lower body. At 1st base, Jacob has good pre-pitch actions, he fields aggressively, and keeps the ball in front of his body. He has good bag awareness, fields in some rhythm, and he throws with direction toward his target. On the mound, Jacob has good balance over the rubber, he keeps his eyes on target, and he uses his lower body well. Offensively, Jacob has a square stance, a short stride, and good balance. He has a level swing path and works the ball to the opposite field. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
