12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jacob showed on the mound and at SS for the first time at the event. He has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present earlier to improve defensive grade. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-81 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he throws a ton of strikes, working to get ahead of hitters. He is aggressive and shows good mound presence. Mental makeup is a plus as he is coachable, plays hard, and is a great team player. He is a competitor and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
