01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament
Jacob is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Jacob shows efficient footwork and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a two-handed exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a soft stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a compact swing with good extension and fast bat speed, leading to line drives and solid gap to gap pop. On the mound, Jacob starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and stays inline towards the plate. Jacob shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing acton. Breaking ball sits from 59-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 66-67mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. With four more years to develop, Jacob has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
