05/05/2019 - Interactive Video Program - New Orleans, LA Jacob is solid 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Jacob has good pre-pitch actions, he moves well around the bag, and has a good glove angle. He has soft/presentable hands, and a quick/accurate arm with momentum to his target. On the mound, Jacob is around the zone with his pitches, his FB touches 54 MPH, and he gets good extension through with solid overall direction toward the plate. Offensively, Jacob has a tall/square set-up, a short stride, and a middle of the field approach. He has a short/direct barrel, he hits line drives, and can work the ball gap to gap. Solid overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
