12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Jacob is a future star in the 2027 class. He is a true athlete who can play CF and middle infield. On the grass, he generates great reads off the bat and works behind the baseball. He works through the baseball and catches it at its highest point. On the dirt, he has soft hands and a quick 1st step. His feeds are excellent on his turns and his arm (77 velo) fits his position. Actions are fluid and has major potential at the position. At the plate, he has electric bat speed. His hands are quick and the ball jumps off the bat. Collected 4 hits (2B, 3B) and had numerous quality at-bats. Was a threat on the bases as he collected 10 SB and several dirtball reads. Jacob is a great teammate and will be a impact player at the high school level. Scouts are eager to see where his game takes him.

12/04/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Honolulu, HI Jacob is a young and up and coming OF in the 2027 class. He runs well and has arm strength. In the field, he has solid footwork and centers his body to the baseball. Gains an athletic fielding position with advanced glove presentation. His exchanges are clean and uses long ¾ arm action. His feeds are accurate and on-line to his targets. Working to throw the top of the baseball will provide further carry as he gains strength. In the box, he hits above his grade level. He has a middle of the field approach and can put the ball in both gaps. Has a short stroke and his barrel is in the zone with feel. Attacks the back of the baseball well and with reps and strength, he will learn to backspin with ease. Overall, scouts were impressed with his actions and they are excited to see how he blossoms on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
