11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Jacob is a hard working and competitive 2nd baseman, who will graduate in 2017. Defensively, he showed a good pre-pitch setup and active footwork when approaching grounders, which allowed him to create proper angles to the ball. Exchanges were clean, as he did a fine job of getting rid of the ball quickly on double plays and on ground balls alike. Fielding with lower hips will help him get his hands more presented to attack ground balls. Offensively, he hit the ball well to the opposite field as he showed the ability to keep his head still and attack the ball with a direct swing path and plane. Using more of his lower 1/2, by driving his back hip to the pitcher, will help with power to all fields. Overall, Jacob is a great competitor on the field and will be exciting to track as he continues to progress in this game.
