08/19/2017 - College PREP - West Harrison (NYC), NY Jacob is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Defensive skills are solid, hands are clean and footwork is active. Jacob presents his glove well, blocks and receives properly, and recovers well to his feet. He has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action with some accuracy to his target. Defense can get better if Jacob can block earlier, gaining momentum when throwing to 2nd base, and with added arm strength. On the mound, Jacob stands over the rubber well, he keeps his eyes on target, and lands in a square position. He has a good arm action and lands in a complete position. Improved off-speed, added arm strength, and more glove side lead can help mound effectiveness improve. At the plate, Jacob has a square set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He swings on-time and uses some lower body. Added strength, improved barrel accuracy, and a squarer stride can help hitting numbers get better.
