02/24/2013 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Jacob is a big, solid 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2013. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He needs to attack ground balls, play through, and present hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate is where Hall shows the best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and solid barrel accuracy with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered with power numbers improving as he learns to load and use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 81-83 mph on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off-speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Jacob has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve, possibly as a two-way player.
