10/03/2018 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic
Jacob is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. In the field, Jacob shows quick footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a quick exchange and flashes a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and line drives. With three more years to develop, Jacob has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic
Jacob continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 5 for 10 with a sacrifice fly. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate, works hard, and is very coachable.

Jacob is a thin, athletic 2B who will graduate in 2021. Defensively at 2B, he takes a prep step and is quick on his feet as he works into a low/athletic fielding position. He attacks the GB and fields with soft/smooth hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the stick, Jacob shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He consistently barrels up the ball and drives pitches on a line back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.
1. Develop a stronger build
2. Work around the GB more
3. Arm strength (long toss)
1. Improve bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Level out swing path
