10/18/2019 - 2019 UA SoCal Classic Underclass Participant Athletic-build, expresses pull-side power, aggressive stroke, and a smart base runner with average speed. Physically, projects well to the next level.

05/19/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Redlands, CA Jacob is a lean, athletic, 2-way player with very good skills. Defensively, Jacob has good pre-pitch actions, he fields low and athletically, and he gets good glove extension to the ball. He moves well around the bag, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy from a short/loose arm action to his target. On the mound, Jacob has good balance, he separates on time, and lands with good direction toward home plate. He works in good rhythm, has good direction toward home, and he throws strikes. At the plate, Jacob stands in squarely and athletically, he has good balance, and loose hands. He has fast bat speed, gets good extension through the ball, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can further improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
