01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jacob is a 2024 OF/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the OF, he has effective footwork and good range. He fields from an athletic position and works through the ball. He has soft hands and gets rid of the ball quickly to his target. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has accurate throws. On the mound, Jacob showcased 2 pitches. His fastball was 75-80 mph and had some cut. He also had a breaking ball with 11-5 break that he was able to throw in all counts. Jacob did a great job mixing up pitches in game and felt comfortable throwing off-speed in all counts. He also hid the ball well making it difficult on hitters to pick the ball up out of his hand. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has an athletic stance and loose hands. He has an activated load and smooth rhythm. He has fast bat speed and uses the entire field. Entering his senior season, we expect Jacob to do great things on the field.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Jacob continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the All-State event. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (87 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 3 for 4 with 3 BB.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jacob is a talented OF/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, he has quick feet (6.79 runner) and gains ground to the baseball. He is aggressive in his angles and gets behind the baseball well. His exchanges are quick and arm plays at 85 velo. Feeds are accurate back to the dirt. On the mound, he pitches to contact with a confident motion. His Fb touched 80 with tailing actions. His CB sat 63-7 and has 11-5 shape. Pitched well in game action with 5 K’s in 3 inn of work. At the plate, he shows quick hands and a level path. Proves to be a line drive hitter with ability to us the whole field. Overall, Jacob is a solid two-way player in the 2024 class.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jacob continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with his baseball abilities at the Recruiting Classic. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his outstanding foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, Fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/26/2022 - Baseball Factory Best of The West - Upperclass Jacob is a 2024 OF/RHP who showcased his skills at the Best of the West Tournament. In the OF, he gets good reads on balls off the bat, with quick feet, and shows ability to run down baseballs. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. He gets rid of ball and makes accurate throws into infield with an arm velocity up to 81mph. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and open stance comfortable hands. Starts with a short/square glide step with controlled load as he hits into a firm frontside. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. During the games, he reached base 4 times with a double, and 3 walks. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on-time. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 76mph, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that has good depth. With 2 years of growth and development, we foresee Jacob having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

08/08/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - American Fork, UT Jacob is a talented OF/RHP in the 2024 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions as a two-way player. In the field, his speed (6.75 runner) and his arm (85 velo) are impressive. He gets behind the baseball and takes advanced angles. Can redirect the ball back to the dirt quickly to shut down advancing bases. On the mound, he stays on top of the baseball and works down the hill. His 3-pitch mix controls the strike zone and generates life. His FB topped at 79 with tailing actions. His CB sat 63-4 with 11/5 shape and can be used as a chase pitch. His CH sat 67-8 and can cut away from hitters. At the plate, he can use the whole field. Stays inside the baseball and sees pitching well. Has solid balance and makes consistent contact. Overall, Jacob has a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
