12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jacob Koskovich showed consistency both defensively and offensively at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. At 1B, he worked his body to center the ball and made the routine plays. He displayed a good arm stroke to throw and he constantly was working hard in individual defense to improve his skill. Offensively, he used the middle of the field with his approach and was very aggressive swinging at fastballs. He showed strong hands at contact and flashed gap pop. Overall - Jacob is a quiet ball player that showed to be tough as nails, working hard every day to get better.

08/16/2015 - College PREP - Dickinson, ND Jacob is a R/R 1B who has a projectable frame (6'0"/200). At 1B, he hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He gathers smoothly and has a clean exchange. He moves well around the 1B bag and can adjust to inaccurate throws. Presenting his glove more and fielding the GB out in front will help to improve skills at 1B. With the bat, Jacob has an aggressive approach as he's looking to swing it when he steps into the box. He gets good hand separation and swings on a level path, driving the middle of the field. Relaxing/loosening his grip along with getting more extension through the finish will help to increase power at the plate. Only a 2017 grad - Jacob has a ton of upside with still time to fine tune his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
