04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Phoenix, AZ Jacob is a thin, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Jacob tracks well, footwork is efficient, and he sits in low and square. He lets the ball travel well, his exchange is clean, and Jacob throws with consistency from a long/loose arm action to his target. On the mound, Jacob has a clean arm circle, a repeatable delivery, and he separates on time. He gets good extension on his pitches and is around the zone. Offensively, Jacob has a square set-up, good balance, and he keeps a still head. He loads well, and works the ball gap to gap. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Range
2. Release
3. Blocking
Pitching
1. Extension

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
