10/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - El Paso, TX Jacob is a 2B who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with strength present. At 2B, he starts with active footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Showed he could make all of the routine plays during his workout. He fields from a low/square fielding position, with his eyes behind his glove, and works through the baseball. Has a low funnel and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 79mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Starts with a short/square glide step and keeps his weight between his knees. Keeps his hands inside the baseball and hits ball where it is pitched. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up 83mph during his round of BP. Another year of growth and development should enable Jacob to make huge strides on the field.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jacob is a hard-working, coachable 2023 2B out of Fort Stockton, TX who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. At 2B, he starts in an athletic position, with quick feet, and showed good agility at second base. He fields from a low fielding position, with a good glove presentation, and has a quick 2-hand exchange. Made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 73mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance with loose hands. He hits into a firm front side, with weight between his knees, and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. During the games, he reached base multiple times and made consistent contact. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Jacob making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

10/31/2021 - All-In Membership - El Paso, TX Jacob is a 2B who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame, well proportioned, and physicality to the build and room to develop. At 2B, he works to center the baseball and tracks the ball to mitt. Creates good fielding angles and fields from a low/square fielding position with a low funnel. Made on-line throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate, sets up with an athletic and closed stance. Has an athletic setup, with a small hand load, and ability to keep hands above baseball. A direct barrel path enables him to hit hard line drives to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Jacob making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
