01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Jacob is an athletic CIF prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Jacob moves well laterally and makes the routine plays. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a tall setup. He is smooth to load and engages his lower half well. He gets good extension through his swing and drives the ball from gap to gap with authority. Overall, Jacob is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

10/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Grapevine (DFW), TX Jacob is a RHH 3B who is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he displays outstanding hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through an athletic setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack, crushing the ball through a line drive approach (exit velocity = 94 mph). Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range as indicated by his superior foot speed of 7.09. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. Throws are quick with zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. With 2 years to further develop, Jacob has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
