08/09/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rochester, NY Jacob is a C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish, Jacob shows active footwork to block and centers dirt balls in the middle of his body. He presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with a quiet glove. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws to the 2B bag. At 2B, Jacob shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. Overall, Jacob is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
