01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jacob is an athletic SS prospect who showed well during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Jacob shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an open setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Jacob is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he continues to progress.

07/30/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Jacob continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft sure and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry across the diamond. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jacob is a coachable 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Jacob takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in a smooth load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Jacob is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he progresses.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jacob continues to show the makings of a special type player and promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 8. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

College PREP - Columbia, MD Jacob is a very talented and athletic (5'8"/140) RHH SS. With the bat, he stands in well with a solid base and slightly open setup. Hands are quick whipping the barrel to the contact point and connecting with some pop. He squares the ball up and hits hard, line-drives consistently (exit velocity = 75 mph). Defensively, he remains active on the balls of his feet and works right to left through the GB. Hands are presented out in front with a quick/clean transfer to throw. Only a 2025 grad - Jacob has a ton of upside and is one to keep an eye on for the years to come.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
