11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Jacob continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is sure and presents out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. . At the plate, hitting /power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

06/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Jacob is a 2B in the 2027 class. He is an impressive player with a solid set of skills. In the field, he creates advanced rhythm and stays low to the ball. Has solid footwork and works through the ball well. His feet are active and his exchanges are quick and clean. Uses short arm action and is accurate to his targets. Working to present the glove sooner will assist is long/short hop awareness. In the box, he has a repeatable swing and simple and loose hands. He displays production to all fields by his ability to stay inside the baseball. Overall, Jacob has a bright future on the diamond. Scouts are eager to see his journey on the field and feel he can become a great player.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Jacob is a fundamentally sound 2B/OF in the class of 2027 out of Gardena, CA. Defensively, he works through the baseball with good glove presentation and athleticism fielding the ball with soft hands creating momentum in the direction of his throws. He gathers to his midline while making quick exchanges with accurate throws with a short arm action. At the plate, He has a crouched open stance with smooth timing. He timing enables him to make consistent hard contact to all fields and gives him a discipline eye for the strike zone. Jacob is a good ball player who has a bright future on the diamond.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Jacob is a 2B in the 2027 class out of California. Defensively, he has quick/smooth feet with an explosive first step. He does a good job of fielding the ball out front with soft hands while working through the baseball to make accurate throws to his target. Offensively, he stands in the box confidently and has good mechanics by getting the barrel on plane on time to hit the ball hard with gap power. Jacob could benefit from from a strength & conditioning program but is an overall good player who will continue to develop his game and improve his skills on the diamond.

06/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Jacob is an athletic 2B/OF prospect who will graduate in 2027. In the field, Jacob shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistent to his target. Long tossing can help Jacob build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing and produces consistent line drives. Jacob can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to add strength. With six more years to develop, Jacob has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
