06/27/2023 - National Showcase - Clarksburg, WV Jacob is a tall (6ft/200) and talented 3B/RHP in the 2026 class. While still growing into his body, he shows a feel for the position at third. He funnels the baseball well and fields properly before making the play. Shows good footwork on his spins to 2nd and his exchanges are clean. Arm plays at 79 and displays accuracy. On the mound, he operates with a 3 pitch mix from a ¾ slot. His FB sat 75-7 with tailing actions. His CB shaped well at 11-5 and had bite. His CH had sinking actions and working to take a bit more off will compliment his FB more. At the plate, he has strong hands and sees the baseball well. His is aggressive and shows excellent bat speed at 90 exit velo. Proves to be a potential power type hitter. Overall, a move to 1B maybe in his future, but scouts still want to see him develop at 3rd. His at will play well in high school and projects to advance to the next level. Scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
