01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Boudreaux is a talented/athletic OF prospect who can make things happen. With the bat, this switch hitter currently shows more naturally from the right side. He remains balanced, has fluid rhythm to load and waits for a pitch that he can drive. Hands are quick with plus bat speed, as he squares the ball up and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. In the OF, he covers a ton of ground with speed (6.92 - 60 yard dash). He works behind the ball and has a smooth transfer to throw. Jacorey possesses the tools that will play at a high level.

11/20/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Pearland, TX Jacorey is an athletic OF/LHP. In the OF, Jacorey has quick, active feet and he uses fluid movements to cover ground. He gets into an athletic fielding position and presents his hands out front to the ball. He has a quick, clean exchange to throw from a 3/4 angle. He gains momentum to his target well which allows his throws to carry and remain accurate and on-line. Jacorey can improve defensively by releasing the ball earlier on his throws. As a hitter, Jacorey shows well from both sides of the plate. He sets up in a tall, closed stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing path to the ball which leads to gap to gap power. Jacorey can improve as a hitter by loosening his grip on the bat. On the mound, Jacorey shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 74-75 mph. Breaking ball ranges from 64-65 mph with 1-7 movement. Changeup sits from 67-68 mph. Jacorey can improve as a pitcher by keeping his back leg strong and drive towards the plate. Overall, Jacorey is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

02/02/2014 - College PREP - Houston, TX Jacorey is a lean, athletic OF/LHP that will graduate in 2017 with a lot of potential at both positions. Defensive abilities in the OF are solid, displaying smooth/clean actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in taking proper routes/angles to track balls down. He reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls more and increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but currently projects best from the left side through an athletic/squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, and aggressive, working through a level swing path as he flashes bat speed and creates extension through the ball. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Swing path from the right side shows potential but gets uphill. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 69-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff shows as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Jacorey has a lot of plus abilities and will catch the eyes of the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
