11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Jaden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He only shows as a catcher at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.68. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone but will benefit by squaring up stance. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve lateral movements. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH Jaden is an athletic, R/R 2-way player as a 2B/C. At 2B, he hustles to the GB and moves well laterally. He works to get into a square/athletic fielding position, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Behind the plate, he sits in well and remains quiet when receiving, working to stick pitches in the zone. Throws to 2B are accurate with pop times at 2.72. As a hitter, this righty shows a strong base with centered balance. Swing is level as he barrels the ball up and shows some pop when centered. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve his skills on the diamond.

Infield
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Work low, from the ground-up
3. Play through the ball
Catching
1. Setup
2. Blocking technique
3. Square up in setup
Offense

2. Contact points
3. Stay connected

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
