Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

06/24/2014 - College PREP - Seattle, WA Jadon continues to show well on the diamond. Offensively, he has a well balanced approach with good rhythm. He remains short/compact through his swing, connecting and driving the ball on a line. He repeats well and doesn't get cheated. In the OF, he works light on his feet into position behind the fly-ball. He plays through fluidly and has a quick transfer to throw. On the bump, he has a quick arm action as he works in-line toward the plate. He paints the corners and can spot up his FB well. Changeup shows to be good out pitch, as he throws it with FB arm speed. A talented athlete - this hard worker will make an impact on the diamond.

06/14/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Jadon showed improvements on the hill during his time in Omaha. He raised his velocity to 80 MPH, and showed good overall mechanics. Jadon has a balanced windup, good mound presence, and he works in good tempo. He attacks the zone with his FB, lands in a proper length, and rotates through toward his target. He shows a lot of potential on the mound and we are interested to track his progress as he gets older. In the OF, Jadon has good pre-pitch actions, good body control, and proper footwork. He catches with 2 hands, plays through the ball, and has a very accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Jadon an open stance, a solid load, and he rotates his lower 1/2 well. He keeps his upper 1/2 simple and hustles down the line. He is an athletic and versatile player with some upside.

10/23/2013 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Jadon is a very projectable built OF/RHP that runs well - 7.41 sixty. In the OF, he plays through the ball after getting good reads and throws accurately to his target. Offensively, he hits from an athletic base with some good leverage and potential for pop. Staying compact with the barrel and staying through at contact will allow Jadon to increase his barrel accuracy and hit ability. On the bump, he threw a fastball and a curve-ball for strikes with good mound presence. His CB is his best pitch with 12/6 shape and late action. In all - Jadon is a very coachable young player that has potential as he continues to grow and fine tune his ability.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
