Official Scouting Report

  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Jadon is a skilled R/R 2-way player (3B/RHP) who showed well at the All-Region Tournament. With the bat, this righty steps into the box looking to swing it. He maintains centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. Swing it quick/short/compact to and through the zone as he squares the ball up and drives it to the gaps. At 3B, he has a quick first step with a good approach to the GB. Hands are soft with a quick/clean transfer and accuracy on his throws across the diamond. On the bump, this RHP throws a FB & CB from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall/controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB tops out at 67 mph as he works it in and out. Curveball shows to be his best pitch with 11/5 shape with good depth. Only a 2025 grad - Moreno is a solid prospect who has a ton of upside and time to progress.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jadon is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, Jadon gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a two-handed exchange and throws with a short arm action, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Working on his footwork can help Jadon improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a small load and hits against a strong front side, leading to solid contact to all fields. Jadon can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Jadon shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Breaking ball sits from 44-49mph with 10-4 break. Being more controlled gathering to his balance point can help Jadon improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Jadon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Rapid City, SD Jadon is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Jadon has active feet, a firm/presentable glove, and he centers the ball well. He takes good angles, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short arm action and consistency to his target. On the mound, Jadon has good balance over the rubber, a clean arm circle, and a still head. He separates his hands on time, has a controlled landing toward home plate, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Jadon has a tall/open stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes consistent contact and works the middle of the field. Jadon can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Infield
1. Release
2. Arm strength
3. Fielding position
Pitching
1. Direction
2. Glove side lead
3. Arm strength
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
