07/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Washington, DC Jaelin increased radar velocity to 78 MPH and lowered 60 time to 7.75 seconds during his last workout with The Factory. At 3B, Jaelin makes plays, his footwork is efficient, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He flashes a quick backhand and throws with direction toward his target. In the OF, Jaelin has good energy, a presentable glove, and he catches fly balls properly. He throws with a short arm action to his target. Offensively, Jaelin has a square set-up, good balance, and he swings with strength. He works the ball gap to gap through a level swing path.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Jaelin continued to shine at the event in Arizona and has improved some of his baseball tools. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 5. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Jaelin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared / tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event he was 2 for 4 with a BB. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/22/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Potomac, MD Jaelin is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Defensively in the OF, he hustles hard laterally as he tracks down fly balls. He tries to work behind the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes on target. He delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot and stays directional towards home plate. As a hitter, Jaelin shows a square setup with a quiet head. He stays balanced as he takes aggressive hacks through the zone and drives pitches with pop to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Work behind the fly ball
3. Quick exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Get to a balance point
2. Strong frontside
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
