01/17/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Jake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.33 runner. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry (86 mph exit velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop.

09/15/2019 - College PREP - Moosic (Scranton), PA Jake is a SS who will graduate in 2022. In the INF, Jake has athletic actions, range to the glove side, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and a high 3/4 arm slot across the diamond. Defensive numbers can improve with quicker feet, playing lower, and added arm strength. Offensively, this RHH has a tall set-up, he loads his hands well, and shows fast bat speed. He swings on plane, makes square contact, and he can hit to all fields. More load and added strength can help hitting continue to spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
