01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he continues to shine as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Jake has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

11/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Jake is an athletic, 2-way player who plays OF and 2nd base. In the OF, Jake has active footwork, firm hands, and he moves well to the baseball. He gets good reads off the bat, fields athletically, and throws with accuracy and momentum to his cut off man. Using 2 hands and adding arm strength will help improve already solid defensive skills. At 2B, Jake has athletic actions, he moves well to the ball, and he fields low. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and a loose arm action across the diamond. If Jake can field further out in front of his body and follow his throws more, skills in the INF can improve. Offensively, Jake has a tall stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a level swing, makes solid contact, and he can hit to all fields. Hitting numbers can spike with more lower body and with added bat speed.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
