12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Classic (HS) Jake is a first baseman and left-handed pitcher from Valencia, CA, graduating in 2025. He has a tall frame and athletic build with plenty of room for growth. He worked hard on his skills at the Baseball Factory West Coast Holiday Camp. At first base, Jake shows quick footwork, good energy, excellent bag awareness, and the ability to scoop baseballs. His throws are accurate with good carry to all bases. As a left-handed hitter, Jake starts with a wide stance, good balance, and a controlled load, showing on-time rhythm and a flat barrel path. During live game action, he reached base with two doubles, two singles, two walks, a sac fly, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. On the mound, he works with good tempo and deceptive delivery, hiding the ball well. In two innings of work, he struck out four batters and threw 59% of his pitches for strikes. Jake’s frame, combined with his skill set, gives him great potential for opportunities at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
