12/29/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Jake is a 2024 1B out of Abington Heights High School who continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active and he shows the ability to be a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he has an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfer weight into a firm front side.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Jake is a 1B/RHP in the 2024 class who is coachable, hardworking, and a team player. Defensively, he displayed active footwork around the bag with the ability to pick bad throws and to catch the routine ground ball with ease. With continued work on positioning it will help Jake's defense get even better. Offensively, Jake showed great controlled aggression at the plate and was hunting his pitch. He exhibited a short stroke that made consistent hard contact. On the bump, he was composed and threw a lot of strikes with decent mechanics. Jake could benefit from throwing with more intent and working over his front side more to create more depth on his off speed pitches. Jake is a good player and with some fine tuning will be very exciting to watch play.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jake is an athletic 3B prospect who showed well during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Jake shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate/on-line throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes his stride on time. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap power. Overall, Jake is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he continues to progress.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Jake continues to shine on the diamond and did so again at the All-Region Tournament. With the bat, this strong righty steps into the box with a purpose. He has rhythm to load and waits for a pitch he likes. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and hits hard line-drives. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered. At 3B, he takes a quick first step and works right to left into a square fielding position. He tracks the ball into his mitt, gathers well and has a clean transfer to fire strong/accurate throws to 1B. On the bump, Jake attacks the zone and challenges hitters. He works tall, has smooth separation and repeats his delivery well. FB now tops out at 76 mph while showing good arm-side run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action, complimenting his FB well. Lenahan is a talented 2-way prospect who has a very bright future in the game.

08/20/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - NY (HS) Jake is a talented prospect who continues to shine on the diamond and did so again at the Summer Pro Training event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with well above average power potential through a squared/athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip across the diamond. Jake is a very hard worker who is one to keep an eye on over the next few years.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jake is an 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Jake gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front with sure hands. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and works through a compact swing, leading to solid contact. On the mound, Jake gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Jake shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits at 59mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 64mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Jake is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jake is a coachable 3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Winter Classic. In the field, Jake attacks the ball aggressively and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into position on time and fields with sure hands. He makes a two-handed exchange and throws with a clean release, keeping his throws accurate and strong through his target. Following his throws more can help Jake improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He gets his hands activated in a small load and takes a level swing, leading to loud contact and line drives. Jake can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Jake has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/15/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Moosic (Scranton), PA Jake is a young, 2-way player with a strong frame. At 3rd base, Jake has active feet, agile movements, and he fields in a low/square position. He has a presentable glove, a clean exchange, and he throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Jake has good balance and a loose/free arm circle. He separates his hands on time, has a controlled landing toward the plate, and he competes in the zone. At the plate, this RHH has an athletic stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes square contact, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
