11/03/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Jake is a young, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Jake has playable hands and feet, and he moves well around the bag. He keeps it in front of his body, makes plays, and has a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Jake has good balance, he keeps his eyes on target, and works well to his balance point. He lands with a proper length stride toward home and is around the plate with his pitches. Offensively, Jake has a square stance, good balance, and a short/square stride toward the pitcher. He has a level/direct barrel, and taps into some lower body. Jake can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. Aggressiveness
2. Hands
3. Release
Pitching
1. Loosen AA
2. Finish

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
