04/07/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Sanford (Orlando), FL
Jake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.38 runner. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Feet are active and aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14)
Jake is an athletic and talented 2022 middle infield prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS, Jake is on time with his pre-pitch movement, he presents a low/early glove, and creates angles to the ball. He works from the ground up, he anticipates the ball off the bat, and he has good footwork on double plays. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Jake starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps the barrel on plane with the ball. He creates back side rotation into the ball and stays balanced through contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact to prevent his front side from opening up at contact. The two drills that Jake can do to correct this is the window drill, back panel drill, and no look drill. Jake will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
