04/28/2019 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Jake is a tall 3B prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Jake shows good footwork and solid range. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is fluid getting back into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with good extension, leading to loud contact and line drives into the gaps. Overall, Jake is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

04/29/2018 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Jake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he has improved the most, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as well as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork in attacking balls and playing through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves and he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Jake has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Jake is a 3B who will graduate in 2021. Defensively at 3B, he creates solid angles as he works into a low fielding position. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH has an aggressive approach. He stays inside the baseball and drives pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
