Jake made significant strides in most areas in this workout. The biggest jump came in overall arm strength going from 74 to 83 mph. He improved his defensive evaluation as well along with his 60 yard dash time. He continues to be steady defensively making the routine play, is aggressive to the ball, and has confidence and consistency to his throws. At the plate, he has the ability to hit the ball the other way with some authority, keeps his hands inside the ball and shows good rhythm. A better pre-pitch load will help him get more use out of his lower body to help with overall power.

Rosen showed similar skills defensively as he did at his last workout in Adrian, MI. Jake has pretty good range in the OF, his hands are soft, and he works to the ball well. He does a nice job gathering himself, and delivers the ball from a low 3/4 arm slot, with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Jake has a simple delivery, good balance, and he has good direction toward home. He works to his balance point well, he locates his FB well, and he get good finish and extension out in front. Offensively, Jake tracks the ball well, he has good separation, and he swings a level bat. He has decent bat speed, makes square contact, and he put the ball in play during his live at bats.

Jake is a young, thin, 2nd baseman that will graduate in 2012. Defensively, Jake has an okay approach and decent feet. His hands work well, he makes plays, and he throws accurately to his target. Jake works the double play well and has a good idea in the INF. Jake can improve defensively with quicker feet, better rhythm, and by improving his arm action. At the plate, Jake has good balance and a direct / level swing plane. He has average bat speed and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. Hitting grades can spike if Jake can let the ball travel deeper into the hitting zone and work the ball to all fields.
