01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jake is a 2027 2B/RHP who showcased his talents in front of scouts at the BF Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, he has good footwork and covers ground laterally. He has a low fielding position and a quick exchange. Jake threw from a ¾ arm slot and had accurate throws across the infield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a square stance and short stride. He has a good swing path and good bat speed. He has a strong core and gets good rotation in his swing. On the mound, he had fastball that topped at 67 mph and a breaking ball that had 10-4 break. He did a good job in keeping his shoulders in line with his target and has a controlled landing. Jake did a great job pitching to contact and he only allowed 1 run in his outing. We foresee that Jake will continue to grow and mature both at the plate and on the mound in years to come.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Jake is a 2027 2B/RHP prospect that recently showed off his skills at the All-State Tournament in Mississippi. At short, he gets in an athletic position pre-pitch and shows off efficient, smooth feet, covering ground to all angles with a great first step. He gets in an athletic, on-time fielding position and presents his hands out in front when fielding. His exchange is clean and he creates momentum on his accurate throws across the diamond. He recorded a raw velo of 74 MPH. He starts in an athletic stance at the plate with comfortable hands. His hands are quick and he has a short path to the baseball, and he does a good job of finding the barrel consistently. He recorded a max exit velo of 75 MPH and reached base in 4 of 7 game plate appearances with a double and 3 walks. On the mound, he shows off solid arm strength from an over-the-top slot. He has a tendency to push the FB and reached a max velo of 65 MPH with the pitch. He stays squared on the rubber and in his delivery, doing a good job of gathering his balance. He was composed on the bump and really worked around the plate in game action. He struck out 2 over 2 innings and did a good job of getting in an athletic fielding position when finishing his delivery. Overall, Jake is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he enters high school this fall!

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jake is an OF/2B prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with strength present. In the OF, showed efficient footwork as he works to center the baseball. Fields from a square fielding position and has a good glove angle. Tries to work behind/through the baseball with a clean gather off left foot. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot and arm velocity up to 70mph into infield. At 2B, he plays with good energy with ability to make routine plays. Fields from a low fielding position with a clean transfer. Made on-line throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Center balance at contact point with intent in swing. He keeps his hands inside the baseball as he hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/04/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jake is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. At 2B, he takes aggressive routes to batted balls and works to keep the ball in front of him. Showed a glove angle with hands out front. He made accurate throws from an over-the-top arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 74mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He gets a good rear hip coil and keeps his front side closed throughout delivery. He separates his hands on-time and gets good extension out front. Attacks hitters with a FB that sits 63-64mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup with some tailing action that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. He takes an aggressive swing and hits ball where it is pitched. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Jake having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Jake is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. Medium frame, well proportioned, athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength. At 2B, he starts with efficient footwork and ability to create good fielding angles. Ability to throw from multiple arm slots, with accurate/on-line throws, and an arm velocity of 66mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and coils into his rear hip. 2 pitch mix with his fastball sitting 60-64mph and a developing changeup with depth. At the plate, he sets up in a good stance. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
