05/26/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Salt Lake City, UT Jake is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and catcher. In the INF, Jake has efficient footwork, firm hands, and he fields in a square position. He has proper footwork on the backhand, keeps the ball in front of his body, and throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. Behind the plate, Jake tracks the ball well, he takes good angles to block, and his exchange is clean with a short arm action to his target. Offensively, Jake has a crouched stance, a square stride, and he loads well. He keeps his eyes to the ball, swings on plane, and uses some lower body. Jake can improve skills with work on the following.

1. Pre-pitch
2. Sure up glove
3. Long toss

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
