12/27/2011 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament - Session 2 Villabona showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in Louisburg, NC. At 2B, his feet are active in getting his body to center the baseball, squaring up and displaying clean hands. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly through a clean transfer / exchange. He can work on playing through balls better while presenting his hands out front to continue to improve defensive grades. At the plate, Jake shows a squared / athletic setup. He makes consistent contact with his quick hands and shows balance in his stance. For hitting grades to improve, he can work on shortening his swing path, staying closed, and staying inside the ball. Power numbers will increase as he uses his lower half more and works on timing. Jake is a hard worker and battles on the field.
