05/27/2019 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Jakoby is a tall and athletic 2020 prospect that plays SS and 3B. At SS Jakoby shows a solid arm with an 85 MPH raw velo. He shows the ability to take good angles and cover ground to field in the hole and up the middle. His exchanges are clean and makes consistent throws across the diamond with carry. At the plate Jakoby shows good ability from both sides of the plate. In both stances he sets up in an athletic stance and creates a good bat path. Jakoby shows a slight favor for more power on the right side but can hit consistently from both. As an athletic 2020 prospect, Jakoby is a good candidate to follow for the next year and a half.

11/16/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Marlborough (Boston), MA Jakoby is an athletic 2-way player as a RHP/SS. On the bump, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a low 3/4 arm slot. FB shows late run ranging from 61-65 mph as he works it to both sides of the plate. He gets good glove side lead and utilizes his lower 1/2 well to push off of the rubber. He is a strike thrower and attacks the zone. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break. At SS, Jakoby puts his athleticism on display. He hustles into position behind the ground ball and gathers well. Exchange is clean and he fires accurate throws to 1B. With the bat, this RHH shows an one stance with good balance. Swing path is level as he connects and creates extension through contact, hitting line-drives. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
