07/24/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jalon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are soft/sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot ground. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond but needs to work on getting rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter and has improved his hitting/power abilities, now displaying outstanding potential from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Jalon has the makings of a special type player and will get looks form top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

04/07/2019 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jalon is an athletic MIF prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Jalon shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Jalon is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
