12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Jamal is a solid, athletic OF and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.10. At the plate is where he showed best through an open / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a 2B. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls but will benefit by getting behind balls and playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and got better every day. With 4 years to further develop, Jamal has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.
